What We're Building in Phase 1: Fleet Operations

An inside look at the first layer of the Truc-King platform — how we're thinking about live tracking, maintenance scheduling, fuel monitoring, and compliance for KSA fleets.

يونيو 2026·6 دقائق

Every decision we've made in building Truc-King starts from the same question: what does a fleet owner in KSA actually need to do their job well? Not what does fleet software usually include — what does this specific market, with its specific challenges, regulatory environment, and operational culture, actually need? Phase 1 is the answer to that question. Here's what we're building and why we made the choices we did.

Live Fleet Tracking

Real-time GPS visibility is the baseline that everything else depends on. When a fleet owner knows where every truck is, they can respond to problems faster, give customers accurate ETAs, and hold drivers accountable without micromanaging. We're building tracking that works across KSA's varied terrain — urban highways, long-haul desert routes, industrial zones — and that gives dispatchers a live map view without requiring expensive hardware installations on every vehicle.

Maintenance Management

The maintenance module is the feature we get asked about most. The problem is universal: with multiple trucks each having their own service history, upcoming oil changes, tyre rotations, and inspection deadlines, something always slips. We're building a system that tracks service intervals per vehicle, alerts owners and drivers before deadlines are missed, and logs every maintenance event so there's a complete history for each truck.

Fuel Monitoring

Fuel is the highest-cost, highest-leakage category in fleet operations. Our fuel monitoring module tracks consumption per trip and per vehicle, flags anomalies against expected consumption, and gives fleet owners a monthly view of where their fuel budget is going. We're keeping this software-first — no hardware fuel sensors required to get started.

Registration and Compliance

Every commercial vehicle in KSA has a set of documents that must be current: vehicle registration, operating card (استمارة), insurance, and driver credentials. We're building a compliance module that stores all documents digitally, sends alerts ahead of expiry dates, and gives fleet owners a live compliance status for every vehicle.

Why We Started Here

We chose fleet operations as Phase 1 because it's the foundation everything else depends on. You can't have meaningful documentation if you don't know which truck completed which trip. You can't build communications features if the operation itself isn't structured. You can't process payments accurately if the underlying trip and delivery data doesn't exist in a reliable system. Getting Phase 1 right — really right, for KSA specifically — is what makes every subsequent phase possible.
